John W. Gregg, Early Chaska Brickmaker

John W. Gregg was one of the first brick manufacturers in Chaska, Minnesota. However, what else do you know about him? When I first started researching the early brick manufacturers of Chaska, Minnesota, I could not find out what happened to him in later life. I was extremely disappointed to be lacking that information since John played such a huge role in the early days of Chaska. However, over the years, I have become a pretty good researcher and have found many places to look for additional information. One of those places is Ancestry.com. This can be a fairly expensive tool, if you keep a membership for several years. However, used in combination with other tools, Ancestry is vital to a historical researcher. With this and several other sources, I was able to track down John W. Gregg’s last few years. I compiled the information I have on John into a YouTube video on his life. If you enjoy history and life in the Minnesota Valley, this video is for you! Check it out on my Minnesota Historical Videos page.
