The 1857 Minnesota census showed L. A. Clapp (age 26, born in Massachusetts) married to Caroline (age 21, born in Connecticut) and living in Chaska, Carver County, Minnesota. Sarah A. Lee (age 44, born in Massachusetts) and Linus Lee (age 18, born in Massachusetts) also lived with the family.

The 1860 United States census showed Linus A. Clapp (age 29, born in Massachusetts, farmer) married to Carolina (age 24, born in Connecticut) and living in Chaska, Carver County, Minnesota.

Linas A. Clapp (age 32, born in Massachusetts, teamster) registered for the Civil War on August 21, 1863.

The 1865 Minnesota census showed Linus A. Clapp married to Caroline and living in Chaska, Carver County, Minnesota. Sarah A. Lee also lived with the couple.

The 1880 United States census showed Linus A. Clapp (age 49, born in Massachusetts, dealer in building materials) married to Caroline (age 43, born in Massachusetts) and living in Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan. Sarah A. Lee (age 66, born in Massachusetts) also lived with the family.

Linus A. Clapp married Hattie Ridvert on May 12, 1887, in Ramsey County, Minnesota.

The 1900 United States census showed Linus A. Clapp (age 63, born in December 1836 in Vermont) married to Hattie (age 31, born in June 1868 in Pennsylvania) and living in Owatonna, Steele County, Minnesota.

Linus (Lewis) A. Clapp died October 29, 1905, in Owatonna, Steele County, Minnesota. His spouses were Clara Lee and Hattie Ridout.
